State of the south of Uruguay, with coasts in front of the Río de la Plata. The climate is fresher and less rainier than in the rest of the country. It is a territory with a lot of milkmaid exploitations denominated “tambos”. It diversified economy is based on this specialty and in the vicinity of Montevideo. In the agricultural area, are proced forages, cereals, piensos, and fruits. The most productive activities are the milky industry and the mining of manganese, black granite and clays.
