Salto

 Capital of the department, it is a city that is located on the banks of the river Uruguay. Square and Monument Artigas.

Place that locates between the streets Uruguay, On August 25, Artigas and On July 18. In his center one finds the work of sculptor Edmundo Pratti, of 1940.

Departmental institute.

The building of the above mentioned institute, byline of the year 1888 and it was declared a Historical National Monument.

Obelisk.

Work of sculptor Edmundo Pratti of 1922, it was the first monument of the republic to the recognized Uruguayan writer José Enrique Rodó.
